CVSA Welcomes back students for 2011

Sunday 13th February 2011 was a beautiful summers day here in Canberra. The students’ association (CVSA) decided it was a perfect opportunity to welcome back students from the summer break as well as to welcome a new addition to the CVSA who has been accepted to take up studies at the ANU. She is Mrs. Cynthia Moli from the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu.

Semester 1 is around the corner, and it is time to get back into the lecture halls and get stuck into the assignments again. As with all new students coming to Canberra, Cynthia had to undergo a six weeks intensive academic program (IAP) to get her and all her other colleagues mentally prepared for the months and years ahead. She commented on the IAP as very rewarding and is looking forward to the actual lectures.

The Sunday BBQ was beside CVSA’s favourite picnic spot at the Ginninderra Lake near Belconnen town – one of the major shopping centres around Canberra. Everyone enjoyed catching up after the break while the children in particular enjoyed running around with other kids of our local residents as well as having a dip at the lake!
