CVSA members attended VKS seminar

A couple of CVSA members were fortunate to attend a seminar at the Australian National University on Tuesday 15th March, where Vanuatu Kaljoral Senta Officials were the guest speakers.

The VKS Officials were Marcellin Abong, Director of the Vanuatu Kaljoral Senta and the Chairman of the Vanuatu National Cultural Council, and Jacob Kapere, Head of the Audiovisual Department of the VKS and the Head Curator of the Vanuatu Kaljoral Senta.

Mr. Abong spoke on the topic of “The Local, National and International Network Policy of the VKS: the future of collaborative research in Vanuatu” while Mr. Kapere spoke on the topic of “The Tafea Kaljoral Senta (TKS) Project: origins and future developments”.

It was an honour for the CVSA members to be in a room packed with academics and experts who have done works of all sorts in Vanuatu regarding its diverse Customs, Culture, Tradition and History. It was also interesting to be amongst Aussies who speak perfect Bislama!

The seminar was concluded with lunch and a lot of interesting storian.
