Media Release 3/2010 (27/05/10):
The Canberra Vanuatu Students Association (CVSA) has taken another step forward in launching on Sunday afternoon 23 May 2010 a website (or what is called a blog). The outgoing President and Secretary (pictured) who are graduating in July took the privilege of launching this website. This is a dream come through since the Association was initially established in 2009. All the Vanuatu students studying at the Australian National University, the University of Canberra and the Canberra Institute of Technology (ANU, UC and CIT) pulled together collaboratively in making this project a success.
Thanks to the Association Secretary (Mr. Stanley Trief) who has a background in IT, for getting this project up and running within a matter of just a few weeks since mid-April. The website is in its early stages, but the students are proud to have such a modern information sharing avenue up and running and accessible to potential Vanuatu students, especially those planning to come over to ANU, UC or CIT from 2011 onward. The website would also contain views of the CVSA and its members towards issues affecting Vanuatu. Viewers to this website can freely post comments on each news items and their comments are very much welcome and would be appreciated by CVSA.
The website currently contains information on the study programs of past and current students, news items and press statements. In time we will also have other items up on the website. It also carries a range of pictures, mainly depicting social aspects of life in Canberra. As the saying goes, “life is not all work.” The students work and study hard, but when the time comes to enjoy a good time out at the BBQ stand they do enjoy themselves also, largely for the purpose of strengthening the spirit of togetherness, unity, cooperation and oneness of purpose.
Welcome to the Vanuatu Canberra Students Association website. The blog address is: http://canberra-vanuatustudents.blogspot.com/. Alternatively you can Google the name of the Association to access the website. CVSA can be contacted at cvsa.act@gmail.com.
